I have always been in love with nature. I still remember some of my first hikes in the forest. At the age of four I gathered herbs and wild flowers while listening birds’ songs with hours. Thinking of those special memories I understand how privileged I am having the opportunity to grow up spending most of my time outside the city in ages when nature was still natural.
My father bought me my first camera when I was 13 and it turn my world around. Playing with it outside, the favourite objects I took pictures of were sunsets, moonrises, stars and sky.
After highschool I went to study in Germany. There were other things on the front line and photography for me was encapsulated in the internet photo-portals and photo-communities. Craving for nature but being closed in between concrete walls, the categories that pulled my attention were nature and landscape photography. I was longing to be on the road, traveling, exploring new worlds. I dreamed of the green mountain meadows, of the clean air, to feel again the great peace that only nature can present me with.
When I bought my first DSLR camera the love for photography was reborn stronger, more passionate, with different nuanced but still finding its roots in my adoration of nature, traveling and exploration.
With the help of my photos I want to take you on a journey to my personal reality. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes sarcastic or ironic. The only thing I can claim and guarantee is that “it is unforced and spontaneous.
Respectfully,
Stela Tasheva
